There were several reasons for this weekend's Amsterdam trip:
i) visit Laura who has just finished her PhD on Ned Kelly and cultural memory (yes, you read that correctly)
ii) cheer Liv who was set to run the marathon
iii) cheer Laura's brother's girlfriend who was also running the marathon
iv) go to a housewarming of a family friend who has recently renovated a house on Keizersgracht.
v) um not run the marathon.
